Agreement Between French Dassault And Indian Reliance Industries Limited

Barely a week after bagging the USD 15 billion 126 fighter aircraft deal, French Dassault and Indian Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) have signed an agreement under which they will start working together in defence and homeland security sector from next week. "Dassault Aviation, a major player in the global aerospace industry, has entered into a MoU with Reliance Industries, for pursuing strategic opportunities of collaboration in the area of complex manufacturing and support in India," the two companies said in a joint statement. India Successfully Test Interceptor Missile

In validation of its Ballistic Missile Defence (BMD) shield, India has once again successfully test-fired over the Bay of Bengal an indigenously developed interceptor missile, capable of destroying any incoming hostile ballistic missile through a direct hit at an altitude of 15 km, from a test range off Odisha coast's near Balasore on February 10. "It was a fantastic launch. The trial, conducted from two launch sites of Integrated Test Range (ITR) for developing a full-fledged multi-layer Ballistic Missile Defence system, was fully successful," ITR Director SP Dash said. Rolls-Royce Water jets For Indian Coast Guard Fast Patrol Craft

British aerospace manufacturer Rolls-Royce will soon deliver 60 water jets for a new fleet of 20 Fast Patrol Vessels for the Indian Coast Guard, the company said announcing its results last week. Brazil Seeks India’s Help for Selecting Fighter Planes as Brazilian Defence Minister Meets Indian Top Brass

Seeking to gain from India’s experience in carrying out the world’s biggest deal vis-à-vis the $ 11 billion MMRCA deal, Brazil has approached India for assistance in its forthcoming defence procurement. The Brazilian Defence Minister Celso Amorim was in New Delhi earlier this week to discuss ways of building up greater bilateral military ties and gaining insight into the selection process of the MMRCA since Brazil is on the verge of selecting a fighter for its air force. Guidelines for Defence Public-Private Sector JVs Approved

India has come out with a detailed guidelines on formation of joint ventures (JVs) between defence public and private firms enabling future tie-ups between the two for exploring business opportunities in the security sector and for boosting indigenous design, development and production capabilities, over four months after it had put on hold such an effort by Mumbai-based government-owned Mazagon Docks and Gujarat-based private sector Pipavav Defence and Offshore Engineering.
