HAL Delivers ‘IFF-1410’ System to Navy for P-81 Aircraft, Implements New Procedures for Transparency with Vendors

India’s premier aeronautic laboratory, the state-run Hindustan Aeronauts Limited (HAL) has delivered the first homegrown production unit of Identification of Friend or Foe (IFF-1410) transponder for the Indian Navy’s Boeing P-8I reconnaissance aircraft. DRDO Surges Ahead With 2nd Phase of AEW&CS, Plans to Integrate AESA Radar on Tejas Mark 2 as Well

The state-run Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO) have received sanctions to pursue the second phase of AEW&CS (Airborne Early Warning and Control System) programme. In a recent report, DRDO Chief Dr.VK Saraswat has stated that the project will be called AEW&CS India and the requisite sanctions have been granted for the same. Post MMRCA, French Firms Stand Tall in the Indian Defence Market

With the selection of the Dassault Aviation’s Rafale combat aircraft in the biggest defence deal worth roughly $ 11 billion for Indian Air force (IAF), the French firm Thales also stands to gain a substantial chunk of the deal. French firm Thales will stand to gain 25 percent of the value of the MMRCA contract since it will supply the active electronic array radar and onboard electronics. Raytheon to Offer Missile to IAF and Radars to Boost Surveillance and Reconnaissance

The US defence giant Raytheon has revealed that it has received a Request for Information (RFI) for High Speed Expendable Aerial Target (HEAT) missile and two additional RFIs for airborne surveillance and reconnaissance radars from India.
