IAF's Israeli-Supplied Aerostat Damaged, Non-Operational

India's Parliament was Wednesday informed that one of Indian Air Force's (IAF) Aerostats supplied by Israeli defence firm Rafael has been damaged and that it is non-operational. Defence Minister AK Antony, in reply to questions from members of parliament in Rajya Sabha (House of States) the two Aerostat were bought by India from Rafael in 2002 and these two radars were supplied to IAF in 2007 and 2008 respectively. IAF Procuring Surveillance Radars, Reconnaissance Equipment to Upgrade Airfields, Air Defence

The Indian Air Force (IAF) will soon be procuring Surveillance Radar Elements, Precision Approach Radars, UHF Ground-to-Air Radio sets and Commutated Automatic Direction Finder systems to upgrade the equipment at it airfields, the Indian Parliament was informed. Antony told the lower house in written replies to questions from Members of Parliament that the IAF's Modernisation of Air Field Infrastructure (MAFI) project is progressing to improve and modernise the navigational aids at all IAF airfields. Debut Flight Test of Embraer Aircraft with Indian AEW CS in December

The network-centric warfare operations of the Indian Air Force (IAF) are ready to get a boost as India’s indigenous development of a compact Airborne Early Warning Control System (AEW CS) will witness its first flight test on the Embraer aircraft. The homegrown AEW CS is being developed by the DRDO lab called Centre for Air Borne Systems (CABS) will be integrated into modified Embraer aircraft (EMB145 I). ADE Gears up for Advanced Rustom-2 UAV as well as Solar Drones and Unmanned Combat Aerial Vehicles

After having successfully conducted the fifth flight of the home-made Rustom-I unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), India has revealed that another advanced UAV, Rustom-2, is being developed. The Rustom-2 will be designed and developed by Bangalore-based Aeronautical Development Establishment (ADE), a DRDO laboratory and will be comparable to top drones in the world. Raytheon to Offer Missile to IAF and Radars to Boost Surveillance and Reconnaissance

The US defence giant Raytheon has revealed that it has received a Request for Information (RFI) for High Speed Expendable Aerial Target (HEAT) missile and two additional RFIs for airborne surveillance and reconnaissance radars from India.
