HAL Delivers ‘IFF-1410’ System to Navy for P-81 Aircraft, Implements New Procedures for Transparency with Vendors

India’s premier aeronautic laboratory, the state-run Hindustan Aeronauts Limited (HAL) has delivered the first homegrown production unit of Identification of Friend or Foe (IFF-1410) transponder for the Indian Navy’s Boeing P-8I reconnaissance aircraft. DRDO Surges Ahead With 2nd Phase of AEW&CS, Plans to Integrate AESA Radar on Tejas Mark 2 as Well

The state-run Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO) have received sanctions to pursue the second phase of AEW&CS (Airborne Early Warning and Control System) programme. In a recent report, DRDO Chief Dr.VK Saraswat has stated that the project will be called AEW&CS India and the requisite sanctions have been granted for the same. Second Embraer Plane with Indian AEW&C Tested Successfully

The debut test of the second Airborne Early Warning and Control System (AEW&C) developed by state-run DRDO has been successfully tested on-board the Brazilian Embraer plane at the San Jose dos Campos in Brazil yesterday. The Embraer EMB 145 aircraft is expected to be delivered in June this year to India. Following this delivery, other mission systems will then be integrated on to the aircraft and readied for Mission System flight trials which will commence in November this year. Selex Galileo Signs Contract with Indian Navy to Provide Services and Training Till 2022

Selex Galileo, a Finmeccanica company, has signed a contract with the Indian Navy which will entail the provision of support and service to the navy till the year 2022. The contract between Selex Galileo and Indian Navy amounts to £ 21 million and the former will support the avionics facility at the Centre for Avionics Repair and Software Development (CARES) at India’s Naval Aircraft Yard at Kochi. Post MMRCA, French Firms Stand Tall in the Indian Defence Market

With the selection of the Dassault Aviation’s Rafale combat aircraft in the biggest defence deal worth roughly $ 11 billion for Indian Air force (IAF), the French firm Thales also stands to gain a substantial chunk of the deal. French firm Thales will stand to gain 25 percent of the value of the MMRCA contract since it will supply the active electronic array radar and onboard electronics. Besides the MMRCA, the Mirage fighters upgrade deal will also involve French giants Dassault and Thales besides European consortium MBDA. Read More...
