IAF's $ 1 Billion Basic Trainer Aircraft Deal Stalled due to Alleged Inconsistency in Selection

India may Ground Entire MiG-29k Fleet Following the Crash in Russia

Following the recent crash of the twin-seater MiG-29 KUB in Russia killing two Russian pilots, India is considering the grounding of its own MiG-29 K fighters procured from Russia recently. According to Indian Naval Chief Adm. N.Verma, clarifications have been sought from the Russian Aircraft Corporation and if a technical flaw is ascertained, then India will ground its MiG-29 K fleet. India to Settle for a Single Vendor for Jaguar Upgrade

After the cancellation of a tender for the Jaguar fighter aircraft engine upgrade, the decision to equip the Indian Air force (IAF) fleet of Jaguar fighters with new engines from a single vendor has been finalized. The IAF feels that the Jaguar fleet needs urgent upgrades as its airframe and its systems still have the potential to serve the force. The deal for roughly 250 new engines, inclusive of spares, should be worth more than $ 2 billion.

Russia Delivers Five More MIG-29k Fighters to Indian Navy

The Indian Navy’s aviation front has received a major boost with five new MiG-29K carrier-borne fighter jets from Russia making the naval aviation a decisive force to reckon with. Mirage Upgrade Deal for IAF on the Verge of Approval

The much-awaited deal between India and France for the upgrade of 52 Mirage-2000 multi-role fighters for Indian Air Force (IAF) in expected to be sealed shortly. Defence Ministry has revealed that the Mirage upgrade programme has been pegged at $ 2.4 billion and is now awaiting the approval of the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS).
