Brahmos to Launch Submarine Version of the Missile, Hike Up Speed to Mach 7 for Hypersonic Version

The Indo-Russian aerospace joint venture BrahMos Aerospace has announced that it has ventured into the project to develop a hypersonic BrahMos cruise missile. The CEO of BrahMos Dr. A Sivathanu Pillai, has indicated that the target is to reach a speed of Mach 7 with the hypersonic missile. Besides the hypersonic missile, the BrahMos family of missiles will soon launch a submarine version as well. Proposal to Equip the Su-30MKI of the IAF with Air-Launched Brahmos Cruise Missile

In the next meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security, the Government will consider a proposal to equip the Su-30MKIs of the IAF with air-launched BrahMos cruise missiles. BrahMos Expects New Army Order for Steep Dive BrahMos regiment

BrahMos Aerospace, an India-Russia joint venture to produce supersonic cruise missiles of the same name, is expecting a new order from the Indian Army for its latest steep dive capable missiles regiment soon. BrahMos chief executive A Sivathanu Pillai said at DefExpo in Delhi that with the successful testing of the 290-km-range missile on March 28 this year, the Indian Army orders will soon be finalised. Indian Army Tests BrahMos Missile, Inducts Second Regiment along the Western Border

With the successful test-firing of the BrahMos cruise missile yesterday, the Indian Army has operationalized the second regiment of the missile to be inducted in the western sector. India has finalized its decision to acquire 42 upgraded Sukhoi-30 MKI aircraft from Russia to replace its ageing fleet of aircraft in the armed forces.
