DPSUS Advised Transparency in Dealing Clients, Stake-Holders

Having faced criticism over having prior knowledge of alleged irregularities in defence public sector undertakings (DPSUs) dealing with army supplies, Defence Minister AK Antony has warned them to keep their engagements with their clients and stake-holders clear of any dubious transactions. At an hour-long meeting with the eight chiefs of DPSUs to review their performance and functioning at the defence ministry in Delhi, Antony was quoted by officials to have "issued a stern warning" in the wake of allegations of a bribe offer. Tatra Denies Graft Charges; To Seek Vectra's Explanation

Indian Army's Tatra trucks original equipment manufacturer, Tatra A.S. of Czech Republic has denied all charges of its involvement in any corruption to get order to supply its vehicles, saying it has not direct or indirect link with the army or any of its representatives in India. Tatra also promised to seek an explanation from one of its stakeholders, Vectra chief Ravi Rishi, on India's Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probing his role in graft offer charges to supply the Tatra trucks to the Indian Army.
