Indian Defence Spending Amounts to Over $ 98.35 Billion in the Past Decade

Indian Defence Minister A.K.Antony has announced in the Parliament that India has spent over $ 98.35 billion on procurement of defence equipment in the last ten years. Defence Minister stated that this defence expenditure consists of equipment for the Indian Armed Forces from local and foreign firms. Hal Bags Orders to the Tune of $ 18.61 Billion in the Current Year

The state-run Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has revealed that its order-book position in the current financial year has been very healthy since around $ 18.61 billion worth of orders have already been received. In its annual report, HAL indicated that the orders include Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) and Hawk advanced jet trainers (AJTs) as well as other aircraft and aerospace products. Indian Navy Awaits the Debut Flight Of Naval LCA Tejas this Month, Finalizes Deployment of UAVs In South

The on-going modernization, indigenous development and crucial acquisitions have put Indian Navy on the forefront as it readies to deploy various advanced warships, submarines and drones. Contracts with Russia, France and Ukraine Help IAF Military Aircraft Upkeep

The Indian Defence Minister has recently made an announcement in the Parliament regarding the various contracts signed as part of the maintenance and capability-building exercises for the Indian Air Force (IAF). Defence Minister A.K.Antony indicated that crucial contracts that have been signed include the ones with RAC MiG Russia for upgradation of MiG-29 aircraft, Spets Techno Export from Ukraine for upgradation of An-32 aircraft and with the French firm Thales.
