Arjun Mark II Battle Tank with New Upgrades Undergoes Trials in Rajasthan for Army

The state-run Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO) has started a fresh round of trials for the Arjun Mark II battle tanks with upgrades in the Pokhran firing range in Rajasthan. According to DRDO spokesperson Ravi Gupta, the trials will continue for about two months and the focus will be on 19 parameters that will highlight the improvements in the tank. India’s Self-Propelled Artillery Project ‘Bhim’ To Get a New Lease of Life

After a hiatus of over a decade, the state-run Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO) plans to restart the ‘Bhim’ self-propelled howitzer project once again. The ‘Bhim’ howitzer project went awry due to the ban on Denel of South Africa which was developing the artillery system as a private venture. After Denel was blacklisted by the Indian government due to its controversial role in a separate deal for anti-materiel rifles, the Bhim artillery system remained devoid of a gun. Brahmos Aerospace Delivers Second Regiment of Brahmos Missile Ahead of Schedule, Sets up Centre for Developing Hypersonic Missiles

The Indian Army has received the second regiment of the Brahmos cruise missile from BrahMos Aerospace, the Indo-Russian joint venture for missile development. The second regiment, handed over by the Minister of State for Defence Dr.M.M. Pallam Raju, consisted of a battery of crucial systems for the Indian Army version of the Brahmos cruise missile. DRDO Lab TBRL to Make a Million Multi Mode Grenades for the Indian Army

The Chandigarh-based Terminal Ballistics Research Laboratory (TBRL), part of the Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO), has revealed that it will be manufacturing one million multi-mode grenades (MMG) for the Indian Army. India to Test 5,000 Kilometre Range Agni-V Ballistic Missile in February 2012

After having successfully conducted three missile tests recently, state-owned Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO) has revealed that India’s nuclear capable ballistic missile Agni-V will be ready for demonstration in February 2012. According to DRDO Chief Controller (R&D) W Selvamurthy, the Agni-V missile with 5,000 kilometer capacity is an upgraded version of Agni-III which has been handed over to the Indian Army. Read More...
