IAF to Acquire 22 Apache Ah-64d Attack Helicopters From Boeing

The Indian Air Force (IAF) has decided to acquire 22 Apache AH-64D multirole combat helicopters from the US aerospace major Boeing. The financial bids were opened last week and the deal for the 22 Apache attack helos is to the tune of $ 1.4 billion. According to Defence Ministry officials, Boeing is the only bidder for the attacks helicopters since Russia had withdrawn its Mi-28N Night Hunter. The IAF deal for 22 Apache Ah-64 D combat helicopters will include both direct commercial sale (DCS) and foreign military sales (FMS) components besides offsets, sources said. Read More...

US, Russian-Origin Tanks To Fight It Out In Indian Exercise

For the first time, American and Russian-origin tanks will take on each other on Indian soil as the US and Indian troops get ready to hold the Exercise Yudh Abhyas in the Mahajan field firing ranges in Rajasthan next month. The Indian side will field its Russian-origin T-72 and BMP Infantry Combat vehicles whereas the Americans will come with their M1Abram tanks and Stryker ICVs for the wargames, Army officials said to defencenow.com. Boeing Bags $ 469 Million Contract for Maintenance and Upgrades of C-17 Globemaster for India

While the Indian government has already approved the acquisition of ten C-17 Globemaster strategic airlift aircraft in June this year from US, the contract for aircraft maintenance and upgrades between Indian Air Force (IAF) and Boeing has been pegged at $ 469 million.
