Indian Coast Guard Inducts Inshore Patrol Vessel

Indian Coast Guard (ICG) has inducted the second of the eight Inshore Patrol Vessels (IPVs) it ordered from the Kolkata-based Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers (GRSE). The ship, ICGS Rajtarang was commissioned into the force by India's Minister of State for Defence MM Pallam Raju at an event in Chennai in the presence of ICG Director General Vice Admiral MP Muralidharan. The 50-metre IPV is equipped with advanced and sophisticated navigational and communication sensors and equipment. At its economical speed of 16 knots, it has an endurance of 1,500 nautical miles. GRSE Launches Second Anti-Submarine Corvette ‘Kadmatt’ In Kolkata for Indian Navy

The public sector shipyard Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers (GRSE) has launched the second homegrown anti-submarine warfare (ASW) called ‘Kadmatt’ for the Indian Navy. The Kadmatt ASW is part of Indian Navy’s Project -28 which aims to modernize the navy by creating stealth corvettes to destroy enemy submarines. Indian Navy Inducts INS Shakti and Envisages More Landing Craft Utilities and Landing Platform Docks

The Indian Navy has commissioned the fourth fleet tanker INS Shakti into the fleet which has been constructed by Fincantieri Shipyard of Italy. INS Shakti will be a much needed boost for the Indian Navy as it will help them to chart beyond the limits of the Indian Ocean. Indian Navy to Procure Indigenous Anti-Submarine Ships

The Indian Navy has expressed its intention to acquire indigenously-built shallow water anti-submarine craft to ward off any underwater threat. The anti-submarine ship will tackle and destroy under water threat, undertake low intensity maritime operations and enable laying of anti-ship and anti-submarine mines. Indian Navy receives new Warship & Fast Attack Craft to enhance Coastal Security

With the intention of prioritizing maritime security and boosting India’s capabilities in terms of coastal surveillance, a new stealth frigate called INS Satpura and a fast attack craft (FAC) called INS Koswari have been delivered to the Indian Navy.
