Government Gives Nod for Acquiring Landing Craft Utility (LCU) for Indian Navy

The amphibious warfare capabilities of India will receive a major thrust as the Indian government clears the acquisition of specialized assault vessels called Landing Craft Utility (LCU) which will enable transportation of troops, combat vehicles and weapon systems onto the enemy shores. The acquisition of eight LCUs will amount to $ 483.55 million and the Cabinet Committee on Security has cleared the proposal. Read More...
