India And Japan Address Maritime And Cyber Security, Step-Up Regional And International Security Ties

India and Japan have recently concluded discussing the cooperation in key bilateral areas; including maritime, cyber and outer space security, in Tokyo where foreign and Defence secretaries of both nations were present. Both countries also held talks pertaining to regional and international security situation as part of the 2nd India-Japan 2+2 Dialogue, according to Indian Foreign Ministry. The 2nd India-Japan 2+2 Dialogue involved the foreign and Defence secretaries of both nations reviewing the bilateral security and Defence cooperation. After China Visit, Indian Warships Returning Home

After successfully completing their four-day goodwill visit to Shanghai last week, four Indian warships are returning home and have left the Chinese port in the Western Pacific Ocean on their return journey back to Visakhapatnam, their home base. India's guided missile destroyer INS Rana, stealth frigate INS Shivalik, missile corvette INS Karmukh and fleet tanker INS Shakti had docked in Shanghai last week. After China, Indian Warships to Be Deployed In Horn of Africa, Red Sea and Western Mediterranean

Following the docking of four warships in Shanghai after a six year gap, Indian Navy is now preparing the departure of several other warships to cover the entire Indian Ocean Region. The Indian Navy is sending four warships on an overseas deployment to the Horn of Africa, Red Sea and the western Mediterranean to enhance its blue-water capability. Besides, Indian warships are also headed towards Seychelles, Mauritius and Maldives offering surveillance and anti-piracy patrolling. Read More...

Indian Warships in China after Six-Year Gap

After a gap of six years, four Indian warships are on a visit to China, docking at Shanghai on a four-day port call. The Indian warships -- guided missile destroyer INS Rana, stealth frigate INS Shivalik, a Kora class corvette INS Karmuk and fleet tanker INS Shakti -- from the Visakhapatnam-based Eastern Fleet entered Shanghai amidst a warm reception from the Chinese People's Liberation Army (Navy). Indo-Us Naval Drill ‘Malabar -2012’ Starts Off In Bay of Bengal

The annual Indo-US joint naval drill called ‘Exercise Malabar-2012’ has commenced in the Bay of Bengal at Chennai coast this week. Exercise Malabar 2012 will be a 10-day long exercise wherein both countries will carry out drills with the help of their frontline units. The main thrust of the exercise will be to showcase air defence and anti-submarine warfare capabilities besides other operations. The harbour phase of the exercise has already started out in Chennai.
