India And Japan Address Maritime And Cyber Security, Step-Up Regional And International Security Ties

India and Japan have recently concluded discussing the cooperation in key bilateral areas; including maritime, cyber and outer space security, in Tokyo where foreign and Defence secretaries of both nations were present. Both countries also held talks pertaining to regional and international security situation as part of the 2nd India-Japan 2+2 Dialogue, according to Indian Foreign Ministry. The 2nd India-Japan 2+2 Dialogue involved the foreign and Defence secretaries of both nations reviewing the bilateral security and Defence cooperation. After China, Indian Warships to Be Deployed In Horn of Africa, Red Sea and Western Mediterranean

Following the docking of four warships in Shanghai after a six year gap, Indian Navy is now preparing the departure of several other warships to cover the entire Indian Ocean Region. The Indian Navy is sending four warships on an overseas deployment to the Horn of Africa, Red Sea and the western Mediterranean to enhance its blue-water capability. Indian Warships in China after Six-Year Gap

After a gap of six years, four Indian warships are on a visit to China, docking at Shanghai on a four-day port call. The Indian warships -- guided missile destroyer INS Rana, stealth frigate INS Shivalik, a Kora class corvette INS Karmuk and fleet tanker INS Shakti -- from the Visakhapatnam-based Eastern Fleet entered Shanghai amidst a warm reception from the Chinese People's Liberation Army (Navy). The naval might of the country has been highlighted in the ongoing Exercise called TROPEX-2012 in Vishakapatnam and it was witnessed by Defence Mininster A.K.Antony, Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Nirmal Verma and the Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief (Eastern Naval Command) Vice Admiral AK Chopra. Old Viraat, New Shivalik Swords of Indian Navy's Battle Readiness

Indian Navy's battle readiness was put to test in the Bay of Bengal and its "future ready" status is being challenged during a theatre-level maritime exercise in the Bay of Bengal, with it’s over 50-year-old INS Viraat lone aircraft carrier and the latest stealth frigate INS Shivalik as the backbone of its operations. The exercise was witnessed by Defence Minister AK Antony and Indian Navy chief Admiral Nirmal Verma, along with Eastern Naval Commander Vice Admiral Anil Chopra, who all boarded the Viraat and Shivalik off Visakhapatnam on Feb 7 and 8.
