IAF Chief Browne Visits France to Assess Rafale Fighter and Other Ongoing Defence Projects

The IAF Chief NAK Browne is currently undertaking a four-day visit to France to further boost the Indo-French Defence ties which have been soaring high due to the recent selection of Rafale combat planes in the almost $ 12 billion deal. The IAF Chief will be meeting the top brass of French Defence officials, visiting various air-bases and checking out a Rafale Squadron. MMRCA Winner to be announced by November as Defence Ministry Approves MMRCA Offset Proposals

The Indian Air Force (IAF) Chief N.A.K Browne has announced that the winner of the $ 10.4 billion tender for 126 Medium Multi Role Combat Aircraft (MMRCA) will be revealed by November this year. As for the Defence Ministry, it has approved the offset proposals for the MMRCA deal and paved the way for opening the commercial bids in ten day’s time. The joint design and development of the fifth generation stealth fighter plane Sukhoi T-50 by India and Russia has seen a new twist as India has indicated that it seeks a more powerful engine.
