HAL Prepares To Assemble and Manufacture Rafale MMRCA with French Help

Agreement Between French Dassault And Indian Reliance Industries Limited

Barely a week after bagging the USD 15 billion 126 fighter aircraft deal, French Dassault and Indian Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) have signed an agreement under which they will start working together in defence and homeland security sector from next week. "Dassault Aviation, a major player in the global aerospace industry, has entered into a MoU with Reliance Industries, for pursuing strategic opportunities of collaboration in the area of complex manufacturing and support in India," the two companies said in a joint statement. Post MMRCA, French Firms Stand Tall in the Indian Defence Market

With the selection of the Dassault Aviation’s Rafale combat aircraft in the biggest defence deal worth roughly $ 11 billion for Indian Air force (IAF), the French firm Thales also stands to gain a substantial chunk of the deal. French firm Thales will stand to gain 25 percent of the value of the MMRCA contract since it will supply the active electronic array radar and onboard electronics. French company Dassault Aviation's Rafale has won the $10.4 billion MMRCA deal

French major Dassault Rafale today bagged India's biggest-ever multi-billion dollar deal for procuring 126 combat aircraft for the air force. In the tender, the French firm was declared as the lowest bidder, who according to the Indian defence procurement procedure is offered the deal. 'The French firm Dassault Rafale has emerged as the L1 (lowest bidder) and cheaper than its European rival EADS in the tender and will be offered to supply the aircraft to the IAF,' informed sources said here.
