Hindustan Shipyard Financial Restructuring worth $200 Million

Defence Officials Lethargy Forces Postponement of Defexpo 2012

Lethargy of officials of the Defence Ministry's Department of Defence Production has resulted in the postponing of the biennial Defexpo 2012 by almost two months causing an embarrassment to the country in the global arena. Government to Encourage Private Shipyards for Increasing the Submarine Building Capacity

With the dwindling fleet of submarines in the country, India has decided to take stock of the situation with a plan to involve the private sector for the indigenous construction of submarines. A committee set up by the Indian Prime Minister has recommended that the over $ 11 billion submarine market of India must be directed towards the Indian private sector and  public-private partnership and joint ventures must be encouraged within the country.
